Bot Blocker

As a server owner, I found most spam filters sucked and I hated getting all these unread messages all the time. Discord AutoMod missed obvious spam, and other bots just muted people for chatting too fast. 686 Utilities stops spam bots and handles users regaining access to their account.

How does it work?

Bot Blocker monitors incoming messages and looks for users sending identical content across multiple channels within a short time frame. This is typical behaviour of spam bots.

It’s designed to work instantly, without needing commands or complex setup, and avoids false positives (e.g users typing too fast) that traditional spam filters often trigger.

1. Users receive a 1 month timeout which places them in a temporary lockdown and their messages are deleted.

2. Sends a flag to your moderators with actions to override the timeout and view the flagged message.

3. Sends a DM to the user with details on what caused the flag.

4. A user regains access to their account and clicks the🔒I have secured my account button. Their timeout is removed, and they regain access.

If a user is suspected of bot spamming, your moderators are alerted.

You also have the option to manually flag users as spam bots via right clicking a user > Apps.

View the flagged message.

If 686 Utilities is unable to DM the user, you will be notified and the user will either need to wait 1 month or go through your usual process for contacting moderators.

Threshold

The number of channels a user needs to send identical messages into, within 20 seconds, for them to be flagged. Recommended Threshold: 3
